ivanerik Having listened this only once so far, it certainly does sound very promising. You see, Echotest albums, for me, aren't something you fall in love with immediately - I find them challenging to the ears initially, in a good way! But then, with a little commitment and patience from the listener, Echotest's music eventually blooms into something wonderfully simple and beautiful, despite the underlying complexity, and you find yourself increasingly rewarded. So... let the process begin anew! Favorite track: No, You're Dead/The Gate of Light.

freecloud11 Echotest has carved out a unique niche rooted in the best of avant-garde prog rock from the 70s and 80s (King Crimson, Fripp, Eno, Bowie, ...) but moving in new directions. Daughter of Ocean pushes that farther. My favorite tracks rn are Dull Eyes/Light Head and No, You’re Dead/The Gate of Light. I LOVE the richness and complexity (and of course bass playing) on both tracks. They demand your full attention and if you give it you’re rewarded over and over.. ❤️❤️🙌

Jerry F Daughter of Ocean has become my favorite Echotest album. If you have the ability and the opportunity, get this on the awesome red Vinyl double LP, jettison the distractions and take the time to really listen to each track. You will develop an appreciation of the many layers within every song on this entire project. The time that you dedicate to listening to this album will ultimately reveal its inherent depth of art and creativity. Echotest hit it out of the park with this album! Favorite track: Daughter of Ocean.

Avinoam Yagur Probably my favorite Echotest album to date. Dark and trippy instrumentals that tell a captivating story. Inventive and experimenting and always in a good way. Favorite track: Daughter of Ocean.

Tiger Races 07:10
lonely birthdays and vivid cakes the ghostly pictures long forgotten but endlessly moving from place to place from one house to another one heart to the other someone caught peeing on a welcome mat and a stone vase falling down from the open sky wiped out by the wave she saw the rubble, she saw the swollen sea tug of war with tightened eyes tiger races never won til now ever shifting ever knowing ever (tied up in knots pushed down the stairs backwards) color averted purple shoulders regrets of last night's stretches daunting conversations sunk but not dead in the water some of us don't have yards only crooked concrete and late trees that bowed down to the stress of green-eyed neighbors even though they're superior with their split ends and their sickly stomachs

about

dedicated to those we cherish in every dimension—may the mirage of your spirit live eternally through this work, which has been made possible by your love.

the light of day
outlines a dark shape

she saw the rubble,
she saw the swollen sea...
ever shifting
ever knowing

tug of war with tightened eyes
conversations sunk
but not dead in the water

make a move
burn the books
everything must be lost
wiped out by the waves

dead and then
a life sentence of terror
